The second edition of the Cim trainee programme was launched through participation in the career fair of the University of Mauritius where 150 students of the Faculty of Law and Management had the opportunity to participate in two presentations by Cim.
The career fair was organised by the Student Welfare Association and was held across the 14th and 15th April 2015.
The head of Human Resources at Cim Global Business, Clive Chung, and the group head of HR, Vanesha Pareemamun, addressed the students of FLM regarding the Cim Trainee Programme and how to attain success at a job interview.
The objective of this programme is to increase the recruitment rate of young graduates through trainings and professional support. As many as 650 students participated in the career fair, where 383 enrolled in the Cim trainee programme which will start in August 2015 and last for 9 months, ensuring that young graduates are able to successfully counter competition and be recruited by an organisation.
The main challenge facing most youngsters is lack of work experience and this is exactly where the Cim Trainee Programme steps in. It creates a bridge between the world of education and industry by offering young graduates a training on the ground covering stints in different functional department of the Cim Group. This not only enables the young graduates to gain significant work experience, but also provides them guidance on where they want to pursue their career.
“The Cim Trainee Programme is an initiative favoring the insertion of young graduates into the world of work. Throughout the training, the latter will be supervised by professional teams, which will help them to evolve as professionals and to improve their knowledge,” said Vanesha Pareemamun.
“We were pleasantly surprised because we received nearly 650 applications, which implies a high degree of success for our first participation at the career fair of the UoM,” she concluded.
It may be noted that the Cim Group is a financial services group listed on the Stock Exchange and head-quartered in Mauritius.
