Cipla offers $220 m for 51% stake in S. Africa’s Cipla Medpro

November 22, 2012:  The Hindu reports that Indian drug-making firm Cipla has made a $220 million proposal in an attempt to acquire 51% in South Africa’s Cipla Medro. This move will give the Indian company a direct access to consumers in South Africa .
S. Radhakrishnan, the Executive Director of Cipla, said that his company “is open to opportunities that will bring in greater value.”
