‘Île Maurice Tourisme Awards’ to reward the best hotels in 22 different categories

The third edition of the ‘Île Maurice Tourisme Awards’ (Mauritius Tourism Awards) is organized with the aim of rewarding the best in the tourist class of 2014 through voting, which is now open and will last until June next year.

Created since three years, the ‘Île Maurice Tourisme Awards’ reward every year the best tour operators in their field. Hoteliers naturally make up the lion’s share in the different categories.

Now, the ‘Île Maurice Tourisme Awards’ have 22 distinct categories and recognize the changing face of the Mauritian tourism industry.

The ‘Île Maurice Tourisme Awards,’ the only one of its kind in this part of the Indian Ocean, include this year new categories such as culture, Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS), social, audacity and even the Boutique Hotels.

“Our awards naturally follow the evolution of the Mauritian tourism industry. 2014 is a pivotal step. It has been a long time that Mauritius, through its culture and identity, has not been present enough in the Mauritian tourism and we wanted to encourage and support this change, which we believe is decisive for the future,” highlighted Jean-Joseph Permal, founder and chief editor at www.ilemaurice-tourisme.info.

The main objective of the awards of ‘Île Maurice Tourisme’ is to encourage and celebrate excellence, quality and innovation in the Mauritian tourism industry.

“The culture of excellence, quality and innovation, we believe, is essential for the future of the Mauritian tourism industry. It is at this level, as well as by a stronger Mauritian identity, that will make the difference to competitors,” the latter added.

The competition is open to all readers and Internet users, whether Mauritius or abroad. Participants will compete for a star prize of a 5-day stay All-inclusive in a 5-star hotel for two people.
