LUX* rings in Laughter Festival 2015 with French humourist Elie Semoun
LUX* joins hands to celebrate the Laughter Festival for the third consecutive year, with famous French humourist Elie Semoun together with other artists in the Indian Ocean, in order to demonstrate the group’s commitment towards promoting local artistic talent and island culture.
Preparations for the International Laughter Festival 2015 are already underway in Mauritius and this, the sixth edition, sponsored by LUX* Island Resorts Ltd among others, will witness the participation of famous French humourist Elie Semoun.
The latter, who will be on his second visit to Mauritius, will stay at LUX* for the duration of the festival.
Moreover, it is in the same five star establishment that the organizing team will hold its press conference, this July 29th, to kick-off of the festival.
Laughter Festival 2015 will take place from July 30th to August 9th, 2015 in Kafe T KOMIKO, with the sole exception of August 7th when Elie Semoun will present his new show at the J&J auditorium.
Several humourists, among whom will feature Thierry from La Réunion, Joseph Sinon of Seychelles, Ezechiel Collet & Rebecca Perrine of Rodrigues, and Miselaine Duval as well as 3 Moustiquere, will take to the stage to entertain the public.
For three years, LUX* has featured the Laughter Festival in its annual events calendar because the group values cultural events, which represent an opportunity for local artists to demonstrate their talent.
“For the third consecutive year, Lux shows its support for the Laughter Festival. Our Group holds the promotion of cultural activities dear to its heart, and this event is an ideal opportunity for us to support local and regional artists and offer them the opportunity to increase their visibility. And, as for Elie Semoun, the LUX* team is pleased to welcome him for a cosy stay on the island,” notes Axelle Mazery, Group Press and Public Relations Manager at LUX*.
“On the eve of the sixth
edition of the International Laughter Festival, my heart is filled with joy. Our mission is to make people laugh and giving happiness to people affirms the success of our projects. Local, regional and international artists will be on stage to present a spectacle that humours the audience. I also thank our partners who support us year after year. LUX*, for instance, has supported us for three years, and our artists have always received a warm welcome to the island,” states Miselaine Duval, director of Karavann Events Ltd and a founder of the project.
This festival aims to gather several Indian Ocean artists and allow the public to revel in laughter through plays and one-man shows.
