Mauritius hosts the International ICT-BPO Investment Forum 2013

The government of Mauritius, ,particularly the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology(MICT) in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration & International Trade and the Board of Investment (BOI) are is organizing the ‘International ICT-BPO Investment Forum on 24 and 25 June 2013.  According to the MICT, this conference is part of the government’s effort to expand the information, communications and technology sector. ICT is currently becoming the driving force behind the transformation of Mauritius into a knowledge based economy.

Official statistics indicate that the ICT sector is now positioned as the 3rd pillar of the Mauritian economy. The declared policy of Government now is to make ICT the major pillar and to position the country as a regional ICT-BPO Hub in Africa. Mauritius provides promising avenues for growth in the following areas: E-Services, M-Services, Software/Application Development, PKI Infrastructure, Export of ICT Services, High-End BPO activities, Data Centre and DRC, Centre of Excellence for Training.

The International ICT-BPO Investment Forum will serve as a leading platform for investments in the ICT-BPO sector. The main objectives are to attract potential investors in Mauritius and to showcase to the global investors’ community what Mauritius could offer. This event also aims at connecting local operators with international leading outsourcing organizations and positions the country as a reliable and attractive off shoring and outsourcing destination.

The forum,whose theme centres on “Leveraging Mauritius as a Hub for Business Growth & New Markets”, will focus on Mauritius as one of Africa’s leading business and investment destinations being the Gateway to Africa. This Forum will bring together the decision makers you need to meet to do business in Mauritius as well as focusing on key issues essential to the continued growth and development of our country and continent.

The speakers and participants will provide recipe to place Mauritius as a leading business hub in this part of Africa.
