Mauritius’ leading insurance and financial major, SICOM Group, handed out checks to the winners of its ‘SICOM DrivEasy’ competition on Friday, October 17, 2014 during a simple awards ceremony held at the company’s premises in Port Louis.
The aim behind this campaign was to encourage motorists in general to subscribe to a car insurance plan, and for existing customers to renew their insurance, in order to stand a chance to be reimbursed a maximum amount of Rs 20,000 on their insurance premium.
Those interested had to buy or renew their policy between the 1st of July and 31st of August, 2014, to be eligible to take part in the contest.
The winners were selected by a lucky draw that took place under the supervision of an officer of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Mauritius on 10 September 2014.
There were 10 winners, comprising four existing customers and six new customers, who had opted for a new policy or policy renewal under SICOM DrivEasy.
The existing clients who won are Yashmeeta Bundhoo, Bibi Nassera Ramjhan, Satyan Ramma and Georges Christian Sanassee. The six new customers who emerged winners are Goolabchund Goburdhun, Oodayesingh Goburdhun, Fatemah Goolbaree, Marie Gilberte Lamare, Shybany Ragoobur and Shamia Abdul Shakoor.
All of them received a refund check of the premium amount paid by them, given to the winners at the hands of Suzanne Leung, the Chief Operating Officer of SICOM General Insurance Ltd.
Launched in October 2011, the SICOM DrivEasy policy remains one of the most popular insurance products offered by the group, based on the numerous advantages that it offers to Mauritians.
“We are very satisfied with the results of the last campaign run by SICOM DrivEasy. It is certain proof that our automobile insurance policy ranks among the most flexible and advantageous of the market offerings,” said Suzanne Leung.
She concluded that their organization makes it a point to apply the relevant procedures of refund or compensation as soon as possible in order to indemnify claimants, and are sensitive to the inconvenience, and even the trauma, which customers undergo to have to invoke the insurance policy in the first place.
