Mauritius now connected to Beijing

Mauritius is now connected to the city of Beijing, China. The first direct flight landed in at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport this morning with 200 passengers.The once weekly flight will be operated by an Airbus  A340E with 24 seats lie flat business class and 266 seats in economy class. Andre Viljoen, the airline’s CEO stated: We are pleased to note the consistent double-digit growth figures in tourist arrivals from China since we started operations to Shanghai in 2011. The Chinese market also delivered on its promise as we started twice weekly direct operations to Shanghai in January this year. The growth rate has been around 70% for the first five months of the year. With this flight to Beijing, the heart of authentic China, we are not only opening a gateway for the further development of trade and travel but also for the strengthening of political and social ties between our two countries. The prospects for the future are looking good.
