BDO Mauritius proceeded with opening its fifth office in Africa, situated in Rwanda, under BDO East Africa’s initiative to accompany customers at every step into the African continent with its reputed accounting, fiscal and advisory services.
The new office will offer accounting, fiscal services and advisory service to small & medium enterprises (SMEs) and large local corporate, transnational companies as well as diverse public bodies. The Rwanda footprint comes as an integral part of BDO East Africa’s decision to boost its regional presence through the opening of its fifth office on African ground.
BDO Rwanda will be managed by Emmanuel Habineza, who noted:“I am very happy to be a part of BDO. The support of BDO Mauritius and East Africa gives us the competitive edge to participate in the future growth of Rwanda.”
Among other offices situated on the continent, it should be noted that around 200 professionals from BDO are spread across offices situated in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, Seychelles and, since 2013, BDO has set foot into Ethiopia as well.
A 11.78 million people strong, Rwanda is one of the African countries that benefit from enormous economic potential. This strategic presence by BDO is expected to bring greater support to Rwandan companies while bringing greater local expertise and experience to the group’s portfolio in Africa.
“This new entity provides us with a grand opportunity to grow further and to facilitate our customer’s entry into a dynamic market known for good governance. We share the vision of the country and we are very happy to participate in its sound development,” asserted Yacoob Ramtoola, Managing Partner of BDO Mauritius.
Through the inauguration of this new office, the group also highlighted its objective of enhancing its presence in East Africa. At the same time, as a unified group managing companies across borders, the team will ensure smooth and harmonious operations across all territories BDO is present in.
