The long awaited Samsung smartphones have finally hit the island shores, with the S6 carrying a price tag of Rs 33,000 and S6 Edge of Rs 38,000.
The official launch ceremony was held at Bagatelle on 17 April 2015 in the presence of the regional director of Samsung, Navin Peerthy, where the latest mobile innovations of Samsung were unveiled amidst 200 guests.
Navin Peerthy highlighted that Samsung is among the global leaders in innovation – be it in home appliances, printers, monitors or others. Innovation is not just about making a bigger phone but rather, it is about meaningful, real and affordable innovation, he stressed.
Samsung employs a huge work force of approximately 400,000 people in 80 offices across the world and a quarter of that staff is dedicated to Research and Development, where much emphasis is placed on developing cutting-edge products.
The new phones come with exclusive features, starting with a brilliant design cast in metal and dressed in glass – resulting in a completely unique look with unequalled performance. The stellar design is complemented by a screen of exceptional quality with a Quad HD resolution offering an incredible definition thanks to the technology Gorilla Glass ® 4.
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has the most striking design aspect with the curved screens on the side not being a marketing gimmick anymore. Instead, they create an actual design language that puts form ahead of function. The smartphone feels much more natural in the hand than any other smartphone due to the way the fingers wrap themselves around the curved Edge screens on both sides.
Moreover, the two smartphones offer an E system of color labels on the side screen allowing the user to associate a color with upto five contacts.
Finally, one of the most striking features is the enhanced battery life, Navin Peerthy highlighted, stating that just 10 minutes of charge gives the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge up to 4 hours of active use.
