Mauritius textiles companies to showcase products at Tex-Trends India

A dozen Mauritian companies have been chosen to participate in edition 2014 of Tex-Trends India, one of the most important textile shows of the sub-continent, giving the island economy’s textile sector a golden platform to demonstrate its strength to foreign buyers.
The textile event, organized as a collaborative effort of the Apparel Export Promotion Council of India and several organizations representing the interests of textile manufacturers, is widely expected to serve as a showcase of the local industry in Mauritius and to display the fine quality of local clothing products from the island economy.
Beachwear Exports Ltd (swimsuits), Craft Aid Limited (organic products), Corona Clothing (custom-made), Firemount Textiles and FM denim (fabrics denim), Hemisphere Sud (leather products), Jack Tellow (jackets and pants), Laguna Clothing (shirts), Consolidated Fabrics (fabrics), Nouvelle Lingerie (lingerie), RT Knits (polo-shirts), Star Knitwear (polos), are the Mauritian companies selected to participate in Tex-Trends India.
Led by Enterprise Mauritius, the island’s premier export promotion authority, these Mauritian companies will embark for the promotional demonstration in the Pragati Maidan grounds of New Delhi from January 20 till January 22.
For this edition of 2014, more than a thousand of exhibitors are expected by the organizers and the participation of several foreign buyers will be fully sponsored by the Indian government.
The Mauritian companies have been invited by the ministry of Textile and Commerce and Industry of India to participate in the country’s premier textile exhibition.
According to Enterprise Mauritius, the presence of the Mauritian industries in New Delhi will allow them insights into buyer expectations and to network with industry majors.
Tex-Trends India was first organized in 2010 as a pioneering initiative of the Indian government to showcase the capabilities of the textile industry of the country.
As many as 1050 foreign buyers from 76 countries including United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and Germany were present in the last edition of 2012 and a large number of industries exhibited a wide range of products.
Another premier textile exhibition, ZOOM By Fatex, is scheduled to be held in Paris from February 18 till February 20, and Enterprise Mauritius will once lead a delegation of local textile manufacturers to the event.
The aim of this show, held twice a year, is to gather specialists of ready-to-wear clothing, manufacturers of fabrics and leading creators. Industrialists from several big exporting textile countries, including those from North Africa, are regularly present in this commercial demonstration, where small and medium enterprises also have the opportunity to build up interesting business contacts.
The last edition of ZOOM By Fatex, held in September 2013, was attended by 2000 exhibitors and attracted approximately 62000 visitors.
