MCB Named Bank of the Year in Africa
The Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) has been named as the Bank of the Year in Africa by the Banker, a monthly international financial affairs publication, for the fourth time in the last five years. MCB was chosen as the best bank for its financial solidity and excellent performance at all levels, said the publication, part of the Financial Times Group.
“During the recent financial crisis, your clients demonstrated total confidence in you. The confidence will be very useful for MCB during economic resumption,” the publication said.
MCB is the market leader in the Mauritius banking sector, both in the area of retail or corporate banking, according reports.
The bank holds the biggest market capitalization at the Mauritius Stock Exchange and it‘s also ranked in the first position among the banks in Indian Ocean and East Africa region, the reports say.
