Australian food chain Noodle Box opened its second store in Mauritius at the upscale Bagatelle Mall on September 27. Further, it is widely expected that Hyvec Food Ltd., the company that Noodle Box has partnered with to bring the brand to Mauritius, will soon open its third outlet.

Tanvirally J Adamjee, managing director, Hyvec Food Ltd., said that the company focuses on marrying international brands with Mauritius’ most popular malls.

He emphasized that the centrally located Bagatelle was a choice venue for their second outlet as it is one of the most popular malls with the highest footfalls on the island and is known for its open and spacious food court which attracts tourists and local youth alike.

Adamjee added that the island nation, which is inhabited by people with eclectic food preferences, is an ideal location for Noodle box.

Moreover, the Mauritian people have accepted fried noodles and fried rice as part of their cuisine, he noted. The cuisine adapts itself easily to both food lovers and quick dining formats as it is freshly cooked, quick to serve and inexpensive.

Besides Mauritius, Noodle Box has other international venues on its mind. It has partnered with master franchisor Dar Al Himmah from Food Ltd to bring 65 restaurants to five Middle Eastern markets over the next seven years. The first quarter of 2014 will witness the opening of the first of two Saudi Arabian stores.

Ian Martin, the Noodle Box CEO, professed his delight at having partnered with two outstanding groups to commence their international foray.

He stated that they were banking on Noodle Box’s flexible format to take it to heights of international fame and fortune. He concluded that the chain was looking forward to identifying and working with new partners to build the Noodle Box brand to other markets in the region.

Noodle Box

Noodle Box Pty Ltd is an Australian stir fried noodle fast food chain headquartered just outside Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was founded by Josh James and David Milne in 1996 based on their experiences in Singapore, where roadside vendors and hawkers rustled up the most aromatic and delectable noodles they had ever tasted. Back home in Australia, they decided to replicate the Singapore model in a fast food chain and Noodle Box was born.

After opening six company stores, Noodle Box decided that a franchise model should be adopted. Today, the chain is present in 75 locations across Australia and is tying up with partner companies in several international destinations such as Mauritius and Saudi Arabia to establish a global presence.

Best known for its noodles, the Australian fast food major also has a variety of other items, including chicken, wings, and spring rolls.
