Phoenix Beverages launches augmented reality bottles; a first in Mauritius

Beverage major Phoenix beverages is the first company in Mauritius to launch bottles with augmented reality features to be made available over the next three months, where unique characters come to life in 3D as soon as you scan the bottle with your mobile phone after downloading the Appletiser application.

The 275 ml bottles of Appletiser and Grapetiser can now be seen in a completely fresh light!

The bottles of the 100% fruit juice Appletiser, which are distributed by Phoenix Beverages in Mauritius, will now offer augmented reality features where three unique characters will come to life in 3D as soon as you scan the bottle with your mobile phone after downloading the application.

Phoenix Beverages is proud to be the first Mauritian company to launch augmented reality bottles, where these bottles labeled ‘Love’, ‘Dream’or ‘Romance’will be available on the shelves of shops, supermarkets and hypermarkets across the island – though over the next three months only.

This gives Mauritians the opportunity to discover a whole new world through a trendy, fascinating and innovative collection.

Augmented reality is a new technological concept which allows companies to give life to virtual characters in a real world. Today, the Appletiser drink, which has been appreciated by a number of Mauritians over the last eleven years, offers this technology through its beautiful collectable bottles.

After having downloaded the Appletiser app from the Play Store for those using Android, or from the AppStore, for those on iOS, virtual characters will appear on your mobile phone or tablet screen, interacting with the real environment in three dimensions. These characters are Johnny Appleseed (a male character who is not very lucky in love), Apple Blossom (a beautiful, sexy and sensational woman who looks for love) and QP1D (a kind of modern Cupid using a bazooka to make people fall in love).

“You can scan a bottle and a character will appear, but the real magic takes place as soon as you put two bottles of Appletiser together,” explains Diana Chakowa, Brand Manager at Phoenix Beverages.

“It is going to allow Johnny, Apple and QP1D to interact in an exciting way. You will not believe your eyes! Several different interactions can take life, for example, with bottles labeled Romance or Dream,”she adds.

The new bottles stand out, thanks to coloured labels with words such as ‘Romance’ and romantic messages at the top of the bottle such as ‘You stole my heart.’

Besides, the bottles can become collectors items because they will not be available on the market after three months —and this is only the beginning, so start building up your collection now!
