Pray for deals: Mauritius ranked most expensive destination for All Saints’ break

Mauritius leads in a ranking complied by travel agency Allovoyages.fr for the most expensive destinations globally for the first week of the upcoming All Saints’ holidays.
It may be noted that, this year, All Saints’ Day will be celebrated across Europe on 01 November, 2014.
The top 10 most expensive destinations, in order, are: Mauritius, Reunion Island, Honolulu, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Punta Cana, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Cap Verde and Sydney.
The island economy leads the top 10 expensive destinations with total expenses for a one-week holiday in Mauritius for a couple being Euro 2,824 (approximately MUR 113,299), comprising of Euro 2,530 (approximately MUR 101,504) for the air fare and Euro 294 (approximately MUR 11,795) for the accommodation.
The island paradise is followed by sister island, La Reunion, which requires Euros 2,690 (approximately MUR 107,923) per couple: the break up being Euro 2,172 (approximately MUR 87,141) for the air fare and Euro 518 (approximately MUR 20,782) for hotel stay.
For spending holidays in the most popular city in the US state of Hawaii, Honolulu, a couple must have Euro 2,668 (approximately MUR 107,041) in hand for travel expenses and accommodation.
Between New York and Rio de Janeiro, there is not a huge difference in the total sum required by tourists to both countries to enjoy the holidays. For New York, the total cost is Euro 2,580 (approximately MUR 103,510) while Euro 2,577 (approximately MUR 103,390) is the cost incurred for holidaying in Rio de Janeiro.
The total expenses for Punta Cana, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, Cap Verde and Sydney are Euro 2,410 (approximately MUR 96,690), Euro 2,403 (approximately MUR 96,409), Euro 2,346 (approximately MUR 94,122), Euro 2,269 (approximately MUR 91,033), and Euro 2,265 (approximately MUR 91,032) respectively.
On the top 10 cheapest, Pekin, Bangkok, Dubai, Montreal, Jaipur, Cancun, Maldives islands, Havana, Vietnam, and Vancouver cost Euro 974 (approximately MUR 39,077); Euro 1,246 (approximately MUR 49,990) both for Bangkok and Dubai; Euro 1,497 (approximately MUR 60,060); Euro 1,545 (approximately MUR 61,986); Euro 1,630 (approximately MUR 65,396); Euro 1,684 (approximately MUR 67,562); Euro 1,703 (approximately MUR 68,325); Euro 1,728 (approximately MUR 69,328); and Euro 1,729 (approximately MUR 69,368) respectively.
Finally, Miami, Seychelles, San Francisco, Madagascar, Hong Kong, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Martinique, Bali and Tokyo are middle-priced countries for holidaying, among the 30 destinations analyzed.
These countries respectively require Euro 2,181 (approximately MUR 87,502); Euro 2,130 (approximately MUR 85,456); Euro 2,117 (approximately MUR 84,934); Euro 2,062 (approximately MUR 82,728); Euro 1,960 (approximately MUR 78,635); Euro 1,956 (approximately MUR 78,475); Euro 1,810 (approximately MUR 72,617); Euro 1,778 (approximately MUR 71,334); Euro 1,776 (approximately MUR 71,253); and Euro 1,753 (approximately MUR 70,331) for a one week holiday per couple.
These prices were looked up at the end of September via comparison engines for online travel agencies. Ranked according to the cheapest price, the flight fares were checked during October 18, 19, and 20.
This study aimed at comparing travel expenses for a couple for 30 popular destinations outside Europe for the first week of All Saints’ holidays, and it took into consideration the cheapest price of available flight and of six nights stay in double room in a well-located hotel having a minimum of 3 stars.
