The real estate sector in Mauritius has traditionally been attracting corporate and individual investors alike, while the ICT sector is riding a wave of success in the enterprising island economy, recently ranked first for technology developments in Sub-Saharan Africa by the World Economic Forum.
Accordingly, seeking the best of both worlds, real estate portal Sizzlingproperties decided to make inroads into the Mauritian market.
Founded in November 2012 and previously based in the British Virgin Islands, the company is dedicated to real estate agents, developers and individuals wishing to rent, buy or sell land or real estate, residential or commercial property.
Vaneesha Hurrychurn, the Managing Director of Sizzlingproperties.com says, “I chose to relocate my business to Mauritius because I found it to be an attractive market, especially since the real estate industry has been extremely successful in recent years.”
The relocation of the company to Mauritius incidentally coincided with the official launch of its new portal www.sizzlingproperties.com earlier this month at the Hennessy Park Hotel, in Ebene.
“The old platform sizzlingproperties.mu was a huge success, and this is one of the reasons I opted for an interactive and innovative platform. Sizzlingproperties.com is a new web portal that better meets the expectations of visitors, hailing from 180 different countries,” added Vaneesha Hurrychurn.
Starting April 15, www.sizzlingproperties.mu has gave way to the new website, which is also accessible from a mobile phone or a touch pad.
Indeed, the site was visited not only by users in Mauritius, but also the United Kingdom, France and the United States, among others.
During her speech at the launch of the website, Vaneesha Hurrychurn dwelt on the fact that the web portal is simple, dynamic, modern and innovative. The site allows users to manage their accounts independently; they can respond to messages, add contacts, post or remove their ads.
This platform is a boon for new estate agents because they can build a list of contacts and increase their visibility on the web. This new web portal is also suitable for foreigners who wish to spend their holidays in Mauritius for a short duration or otherwise, as they can choose between villas, guesthouses or apartments.
For his part, Laval Savreemootoo, the president of the Estate Agents Association, welcomed the launch of Sizzlingproperties.com.
“As real estate agents, it is imperative that we are always listening to our customers to understand their needs and best respond to them. It is from this perspective that we join Sizzlingproperties to launch a website dedicated to real estate, because sales are increasingly being made online,” he noted.
Moreover, Sizzlingproperties will launch from next month onwards a cumulative point system to allow real estate agents earn points to purchase advertising space on the site. Once a certain number of points have been accumulated, agencies can exchange them against advertising solutions or discount.
