Rogers Aviation wins top honours at Swan Travel Agents Competition

Rogers Aviation Holding won the Best Agent Award at the Swan Travel Agents Competition 2013, which took place on February 21 to reward the best travel agencies and the best representatives hired for the sale of its travel insurance products.
This ceremony was held with the objective of valuing the conscientious work of travel agencies and representatives, who actively promoted Swan’s insurance product with the public.
Besides Rogers Aviation Holding, other agencies which achieved distinction were ‘Top Travel’, which won the gold medal, ‘Holiday planner’, which picked up the silver medal while the bronze medal went to ‘Travel Spirit’. Concorde was also recognized as the ‘Best Promising Agent’.
Finally, this ceremony also served as an opportunity to reward eight individual representatives who were outstanding performers in 2013: Ashmina Mohanauth of Top Travel, Christa Labonte of Check-in Travel, Zarine Mautah of Blue Sky Business, Yaneezaa Khoodooruth and Anju Beejan of Blue Sky Port-Louis, Dolores Chan and Alice Ah Kiow of Travel Spirit, and finally, Caroline Hangket of IKS.

The Mauritian insurance industry is one of the most developed in the sub-Saharan Africa region and grew at a CAGR of 9.8% during the 2008–2012 period, supported by sustained demand for pension, motor and property insurance products.
The Mauritian insurance industry is concentrated, but still highly competitive. The industry comprises 12 general insurers and seven long-term insurance companies.
The Swan Insurance Company was incorporated in March 1955 to take over the activities of Mauritius Fire and Colonial fire, which was founded in 1854.
The Swan Group operates in the insurance sector through Swan Insurance Company Limited for general insurance and The Anglo-Mauritius Assurance Society Limited for long term insurance.
The group made profit before tax of Rs 147.11 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2013, compared to Rs 147.97 million for the same period last year. Further, the company registered a profit before tax for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 of Rs 159.51 million compared to Rs 155.33 million for the same period last year.
