Shumba Coal asks to be listed at the SEM
Shumba Coal wants to be listed at the Stock Exchange of Mauritius (SEM) reports Le Défi Quotidien. Members from the management team, actually in Mauritius, have met the press already as well as potential investors. The objective of the company is to raise $5 million once listed at the SEM. Shumba Coal is a company based in Bostwana.
Alan Clegg, President of Shumba Coal, said that there exists a strong collaboration between Botswana and Mauritius and that Mauritius is recognised in the services sector. Shumba Coal is listed at the stock exchange of Bostwana since April 2013.
Mashale Phumaphi, Managing Director of the company, told the press that Bostswana is the ideal country for investment in coal mines, since the country has important quantities of coal. He added that Bostwana can still cater for 24 additional mines and which can produce 190 million tonnes of coal per year.
