University of Stellenbosch to set up in Mauritius together with Global Natives

The University of Stellenbosch has chosen to set up base in Mauritius in partnership with Global Natives, a training solutions provider since 2007, starting with a ‘Master Class’ which will be held on February 12th and 13th, 2015 at the Maritim Hotel, Balaclava.

Hailing from Cape Town, the University of Stellenbosch appears among the top 5 universities in South Africa. Besides the parent institution found in Cape Town, Stellenbosch University is present in Durban and in Johannesburg as well as in 12 other capital cities across the globe namely Bostwana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe and finally Saudi Arabia.

The mission of the University is to create a platform for training and development of African Executives, through tailor-made programs and applied research to create a network of Managers and Senior Executives whose mission is to create a sustainable future for the African Continent.

The course of the ‘Master Class’ of February will concentrate on ‘Flexible Business Models’ and will be delivered by Dr Steyn Heckroodt, Master Speaker at Stellenbosch Business School.

Professor Heckroodt has several publications to its credit under the aegis of the Oxford University Press which are available in more than 17 countries. His fields of specialisation include Corporate Strategy, Reflection on Enterprises Complex Systems and the Flexible Models of Entrepreneurship.

The methodology used by Dr Heckroodt will favour a mix of theoretical and practical simulations and case studies.

Under the practical methodology, participants will be encouraged to use their company model to work and develop a kit of practical solutions which they can subsequently apply within their own company, where the main aim is to set up sustainable models for their companies.

For their part, Global Natives notes that they are proud of their collaboration with one of the most prestigious Universities on the African Continent.

According to Dr Marietjie Van de Merwe from Global Natives, they are very happy to have been able to obtain an accreditation from the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) for the courses.

“The setting-up of the University of Stellenbosch in Mauritius comes with a clear objective for Global Natives, which is to contribute to the personal fulfillment of company executives and directors in Mauritius, by providing them quality training at a world class level,” said Dr Marietjie Van de Merwe.
