Vive le tourisme: Starwood Hotels & Resorts opens first Westin in Mauritius

Showing sustained interest in the hospitality sector of the island economy, last week witnessed the debut of the world-renowned Westin brand in Mauritius.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Blue Ocean Park Ltd announced the opening of The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius, on September 04, 2014.

Nestled in lush tropical gardens, the resort, which is the third Starwood hotel to open in Mauritius after the St. Regis Mauritius Resort and Le Méridien Ile Maurice, enjoys a pristine beachfront location in the historic Turtle Bay of Balaclava on the North West coast of the island.

“The Westin Turtle Bay extends our long-standing partnership with Blue Ocean Park and is a key addition to our growing collection of Westin resorts in the region,” said Michael Wale, the President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Set across more than 10 hectares of land, the resort boasts 190 beautifully appointed guest rooms, including 38 suites, which have been designed to embrace the natural beauty of the island’s unique scenery.

All rooms feature the latest in-room technology as well as the renowned Westin Heavenly Bed, Heavenly Bath with rainforest shower and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities, and Heavenly Robe.

“The resort is an ideal leisure destination. Guests will experience a memorable stay whether they are looking to relax on a sandy beach, feel revived in the serene Heavenly Spa, or go scuba diving in the beautiful natural marine park of Turtle Bay,” added Wale.

The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius also features nearly 340 square metres of ultra-modern event space, including a ballroom, two meeting rooms and a fully-equipped business centre, making it the perfect getaway for weddings, special occasions or small incentive meetings.

Guests can find total relaxation at the Heavenly Spa by Westin, offering an array of indulgent treatments dedicated to well-being.

The resort also offers the signature Westin Executive Club Lounge for exclusive access to the Westin Club along with complimentary breakfast, evening snacks and beverages.

The Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Mauritius has not forgotten food lovers as it offers a variety of food and beverage outlets including the all-day dining restaurant Seasonal Tastes and the beach club Mystique, both of which feature the Westin brand’s signature menu items with exceptional food combinations rich in nutrients and flavour.
