Want to live the simple life? Try, Zilwa Attitude, the latest member of Attitude Resorts, which promises a truly authentic ‘islander’ experience.
Situated on the north coast of Mauritius, close to the fishermen’s village of Grand Gaube, the four-star hotel was launched on Saturday evening amid a proud affirmation of its Creole origins.
Greeted by a beautiful sunset and a breathtaking view of all 5 islands of the northern coast – Coin de Mire, Ile Plate, Ilôt Gabriel, Ile Ronde and Ile aux Serpents – guests were charmed by the realistic representation of the rustic life with typical islander tables.
Signaling a shift from ‘made-for-all’ to customized tourism, the hotel is the first to offer an authentic Creole experience to tourists coming to the vibrant island nation.

Jean Michel Pitot, CEO, Attitude Group, stressed during his speech that Zilwa is more than just a hotel, it is ‘a way of life’.
He noted that the island people are proud of their authenticity, identity, diversity and culture, which inspired Attitude Resorts to create the first hotel in the true spirit of the island nation.
The property, styled along rustic chic lines, pays tribute to the national heritage of Mauritius: its writers, painters, architects and craftsmen.
The architecture and design of the hotel take inspiration in traditional homes with their thatch, tin or shingle roofs, their wax-polished “béton ciré” floors, their rough walls, their bright colours, floated wood, ceruse and rattan furniture.
Established in June 2008 in the three to four-star segment, the Attitude Group witnessed unparalleled expansion from two to nine hotels in just five years.
And, in a fragile economic environment, Attitude continues its expansion strategy with unique offerings to tourists hungry for an authentic island experience.
Founded in June 2008, Attitude manages nine properties in the 4 to 3 star segment, offering a total of 856 rooms.
Five of these nine hotels are commercialized under the brand Attitude: Coin de Mire Attitude,Émeraude Beach Attitude, Tropical Attitude, Récif Attitude and Zilwa Attitude.
Attitude manages the four other hotels: Hôtel Blumarine, Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel, Cocotiers and Bougainville.
The original shareholders of Attitude are family investors. However, United Investments Ltd has come on board as a corporate investor since December 2010, showing its faith in brand Attitude.
